How much does ULethbridge cost?
First year, at this year's prices, for a student from Ontario. Each program's page adds up its own total.
Tuition over the years
First-year arts tuition for a student from the school's own province, as the school published it each year.
What is it like at ULethbridge?
The same whatever program you pick.
- Who gets a room
- New undergraduate students who apply for housing by 15 December and accept their offer of admission by the deadlines
- Money just for your marks
- No automatic entrance scholarships published
- First-years who rate it good or excellent
- Not published
- Finish their degree

- Ways in without the usual marks
- Mature Admission. For applicants who do not meet any other admission route. Admitted with a high school admission average of at least 60%, or at least 65% in English 30-1 or 30-2 plus passing grades in two other 30-level courses, or by showing potential for academic success and excellence outside academics (transcripts, a letter of intent and a resume, reviewed by the Mature Admission Committee). Seats are limited each term. Program prerequisites and competitive averages still apply. Who: Canadian citizens or permanent residents aged 21 or older by the first day of classes; not admissible by another route; any post-secondary GPA must be at least 2.0. No province limit is stated.
- Indigenous Student Success Certificate (ISSC). An eight-month (two-semester, September to April) first-year program for Indigenous students who do not meet general admission or are returning after an absence. Core courses in biology, chemistry, health sciences, interdisciplinary studies, library science, mathematics, sociology and writing can be credited to most ULethbridge programs; completing it allows entry into most programs. Admission case by case; applicants need English Language Arts 20-1 or 30-2 and three of a list of 20-level courses (Biology 20 and Chemistry 20 for the health sciences stream). No application fee. Who: Indigenous (First Nations, Metis and Inuit) students not otherwise admissible, or returning to school; no province limit stated.
- Nursing Preparation Program (NPP). For applicants who do not qualify for competitive admission to the Bachelor of Nursing (or BN After Degree): take ULethbridge courses to raise the admission average, complete missing prerequisites (for example Chemistry 0500 for Chemistry 30) and earn credits that count toward the BN. No required courses. Admission to or completion of NPP does not guarantee BN admission. Who: Applicants to the BN (Bachelor of Nursing) or BN After Degree who lack the courses or a competitive average; no province limit stated.
- Pre-Education Pathway. Qualified high school applicants who cannot be offered direct entry to a combined BEd (Bachelor of Education) degree because of capacity are offered the Pre-Education Pathway instead, beginning their first degree and applying to the Faculty of Education later. Who: Qualified applicants to the combined BEd (Bachelor of Education) degrees turned away for lack of space.
- Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (with Inclusion Alberta). Students with developmental disabilities attend regular ULethbridge classes with support, auditing a program of study with modified assignments and exams; no academic requirements. Students receive a certificate of achievement at convocation, not credits or a degree. Students budget roughly $2,000 a year for tuition, textbooks and fees. Who: Individuals eligible for Alberta's Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) funding, which in practice limits it to Alberta residents.
