Privacy

Careerhelp is an independent project run from Ontario, Canada. It is not a company, a school, a government service or a recruiter, and nobody pays to appear on it.

Directly, nothing. To be specific:

• There are no accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for and no name, email or password to give.
• The fonts are part of the site's own files, so loading a page does not tell Google or anyone else that you visited.
• There are no contact forms, comment boxes or anywhere to type something that gets stored.

When you first open a career deck, the site records that you have seen the "tap to continue" hint, so it does not show it again. That is a single flag saved in your own browser. It never leaves your device, it is not sent anywhere, and clearing your browsing data removes it.

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like every web host, their servers record ordinary request information when a page is served, including your internet protocol address, the page requested, the time, and which browser you are using. That is standard server logging, it is needed to deliver the site and keep it running, and it happens before any of this site's own code executes. Vercel handles that data under its own privacy policy.

Every career lists the sources its numbers come from, and those links go to other organizations: government wage surveys, regulators, colleges, trade bodies. Following one takes you somewhere this policy does not cover, and that site will have its own rules. Linking to a source is not an endorsement of the organization behind it.

Careerhelp is for anyone thinking about a career, at any age. It is not aimed at children under 13, and because it collects nothing, it does not knowingly hold personal information about anyone, including children.

The site's own code sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Hosting is intended to be paid for by advertising, and ad networks normally do set cookies of their own and use them to decide which ads to show.

When advertising is switched on, this page will be updated in the same change, before any ad is served, and will name the company involved and say what it does. Where the law requires your consent first, you will be asked before anything is set, and you will be able to change your answer later.

Privacy law in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union gives you rights over personal information held about you, including asking to see it or have it deleted. Those rights apply here. In practice there is very little to hand over or erase, because the site itself holds nothing that identifies you. If you want to ask anyway, get in touch and you will get a straight answer.

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, so the honest thing is to say that the date is the record.
