  • Mature student admission. UBC considers mature applicants who show high academic potential through achievements and life experience, not only grades. Status depends on time out of full-time study, not age. Admission is competitive and not routine; UBC suggests also applying to a BC university transfer program. Who: Out of full-time education (high school and most post-secondary) for at least four years, and no previous undergraduate degree.
  • Indigenous admission (Aboriginal Admission Policy). Indigenous applicants who are not admitted on the usual competitive cut-off get a second look under UBC's Aboriginal Admission Policy. UBC may admit applicants below the faculty's competitive cut-off who meet the university-wide 70% minimum, judged individually by the faculty with the First Nations House of Learning. Who: First Nations (status and non-status), Metis and Inuit applicants who self-identify on the UBC application.
  • UBC-Langara Indigenous Transfer Partnership. Indigenous students study at Langara College in Vancouver, usually for one or two years, with advising from both schools, then transfer to UBC Vancouver. Students who complete the partnership requirements are guaranteed admission to a participating UBC degree and may get scholarships. Who: Indigenous students who can attend Langara (BC Grade 12 or equivalent, or age 19 or over, or Adult Basic Education or GED (General Educational Development test)).
  • Access Studies. Take UBC credit courses without being admitted to a degree and without the standard admissions process. Credits may later count toward a UBC degree at the faculty's discretion; it does not guarantee admission to a degree. Who: Anyone without a bachelor's degree who meets UBC's English language requirement and the course prerequisites.

What do UBC graduates earn?
