When do Ontario universities send offers? Fall 2027 entry
First offers go out from mid-November, most offers come in May after second-semester midterms, and on-time applicants hear by the end of May. Here is what each university's own page says, month by month.

Offers from Ontario universities come in rounds, not on one day. A school re-reads every application in every round as new marks arrive from OUAC (the Ontario Universities' Application Centre), so you never re-apply, and no answer in December does not mean no.
We tried the admissions pages of all 22 Ontario universities that take applications through OUAC (the Ontario Universities' Application Centre) on 21 October 2026 and could read 19 of them; the Royal Military College of Canada, the 23rd Ontario university on this site, admits through the Canadian Armed Forces instead, so it is not covered here. The months below are what the schools themselves print for the fall 2027 cycle, or for the most recent cycle they describe. Where a school gives no month, we say so.
November: the first offers
The University of Ottawa is the earliest to name a date: its first round runs from mid-November to the end of January, built on your best five final grades from Grade 11 and Grade 12. It does not deny anyone in the first round.
TMU (Toronto Metropolitan University) says it will start to release offers as early as November, on a rolling basis. Guelph releases offers in rounds from November through mid-May. Laurier makes decisions on an ongoing basis between November and May.
These first offers rest on Grade 11 finals and whatever Grade 12 midterms your school has sent. They are conditional: they name the marks you still have to finish with.
December and January
Waterloo makes decisions from December to May depending on the program. Western gives Group A applicants (Ontario high school students) offers in rounds from December to May and reviews every application in every round. York begins making decisions, including early offers, in December. Lakehead's December round is its early round, normally on Grade 11 marks. Nipissing's first round starts at the beginning of December.
The University of Toronto releases offers in rounds from late January to the end of May. Ontario Tech releases decisions for fall 2027 on a regular basis beginning in January 2027.
The application deadline for Ontario high school students sits in the middle of this: January 15, 2027. TMU (Toronto Metropolitan University) keeps taking applications for equal consideration until February 1.
February to April
McMaster typically releases decisions from mid-March through to early May; its Social Sciences faculty says admissions begin in February or March. Windsor's first big wave comes in late February and early March, after an early round on Grade 11 marks, with another in late April. OCAD University (Ontario College of Art and Design University) begins sending decisions in March 2027, after portfolio review.
Lakehead's first main round is in March, on Grade 12 first-term final marks. Nipissing calculates averages from Grade 12 final grades from March. uOttawa's second round runs from mid-February to mid-April on Grade 12 interim and final grades.
First-semester final marks reach OUAC (the Ontario Universities' Application Centre) in February, which is what sets these rounds off.
May: the big wave
Most offers come in May. Waterloo says most of its offers are made in May, once second-semester midterm grades arrive; its Engineering decisions start in December, most come between February and May, and all are finalized by mid-May. Its Math faculty makes few early offers and the majority in mid-May. Western says its largest offer round is typically in mid-May. Lakehead's second round is in May, on second-term midterms.
Then comes the wall. Ontario Tech prints May 28 as the latest date secondary school applicants should expect a response. McMaster reassesses applications until May 15, and its Social Sciences faculty says final decisions come by the May 27 deadline. uOttawa gives a final decision around the end of May to anyone without one from the first two rounds. Toronto, TMU (Toronto Metropolitan University), Guelph and Laurier all run to mid or late May.
The common response date is June 1, 2027: no university can require your answer earlier. Ontario Tech, Nipissing and Laurentian all print it, and Guelph calls it the common response date for all Ontario universities.
After June 1: later rounds
Not everything ends in May. York admits through the end of June. Lakehead and Nipissing hold a final round in July on final Grade 12 grades. Windsor says programs with space continue to review summer school grades until the end of August. uOttawa's third round, mid-May to August, mostly carries denials and alternative offers.
Queen's, TMU (Toronto Metropolitan University) and Nipissing all say your offer's conditions are checked on your June 30 final marks. Final grades reach the universities in July; Queen's wants OUAC (the Ontario Universities' Application Centre) final grades by August 1, with course-specific minimums met by then.
Program exceptions
Waterloo Engineering: a small number of decisions in December, most between February and May, all by mid-May. Highly competitive Waterloo programs wait for second-semester midterms in early May. Guelph Landscape Architecture makes offers in March and April only.
TMU (Toronto Metropolitan University) Grades-Plus programs, the ones with a supplementary part, have first-round dates from late January (Disability Studies) to late April (Midwifery). Lakehead Nursing, Post-Diploma Engineering and Social Work make offers from early February through spring. Nipissing's Physical and Health Education, Nursing and Indigenous programs make a few offers in December and most from late February.
Windsor's Nursing, Concurrent Education, co-op and Commercial Aviation programs are not reviewed until after the January deadline. Ontario Tech's Nursing and Medical Laboratory Science programs allow no summer upgrading. Western's programs with a supplemental form (Fine Arts, Music, Commercial Aviation and its arts and humanities scholars program) have their own February and March form deadlines, and Western Engineering needs Casper (an online test of how you handle real situations) results before any offer.
Universities that give no month
Queen's says it reviews applications on a rolling basis and makes conditional offers as grades arrive, but the pages we could read print no months; its conditions are due June 30 and August 1. Trent issues offers on a rolling basis with no months stated. Laurentian makes early conditional offers to students at semestered schools and considers everyone else as grades arrive, with no month printed. Algoma and the Université de l'Ontario français publish no timeline.
We could not read Carleton's admissions pages (the site was down for maintenance on 21 October 2026), Brock's (its site refused our request) or Hearst's (a certificate problem). Carleton's site answered when we tried again on 30 October 2026: its dates page says the admission period begins in October and continues in January, with no month for offers, and that Ontario high school students must accept an offer by June 1, 2027. Brock and Hearst are not quoted here.
What this means for you
If you have strong Grade 11 marks and apply early, you may hear in November or December. If not, nothing is lost: at most schools the biggest round is in May, on your Grade 12 marks. Keep your second-semester midterms strong, because that is what most of the May offers rest on.
The program finder on this site shows, for each program, the average the school publishes and the official entering average of a recent first-year class, so you can see where you stand while you wait.
