What the wage survey says

Read this one carefully. The survey has no single category for artists, so these figures come from a catch-all group called artists and related workers, all other, which is padded with salaried studio and government jobs. Fine artists who paint, sculpt and illustrate are counted separately and their median is $55,490. Neither number counts the people earning nothing from art this year.
