There is no separate federal wage line for product managers. The survey files the title under marketing managers, where the national median is $166,790 a year and the bottom tenth are near $90,260. That is an honest picture of large technology companies and a generous one everywhere else. Outside big tech, a first product job is more often $85,000 to $110,000.
