Brain surgery was mapped in Montreal

In the 1930s, Wilder Penfield at the Montreal Neurological Institute operated on awake epilepsy patients and touched parts of the brain with a tiny electrode to see what moved or what they felt. His maps of the brain are still in textbooks today.
