A typical shift

Open up, test the water chemistry, check the rescue tubes and the first aid kit. Then rotations: 20 or 30 minutes in the chair scanning your zone, then swap out, because nobody can watch water well for longer than that. Between rotations you are picking up trash, enforcing rules nobody likes, and answering the same question about pool hours. Most shifts nothing happens. The whole job is being ready for the shift where something does.
