Credentials that open doors

• NADSP (National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals) certification

  Three levels, earned through an electronic badge system that credits the skills you use at work. Some states pay a wage add-on for it.

• Medication administration certification

  State specific, usually paid for by your employer, and it moves you up a pay step immediately.

• Registered behavior technician

  A national credential for working with behavior plans. Opens autism services work, which pays better.

• Certified nursing assistant

  Adds medical skills and lets you move between disability services and health care.

• Crisis prevention and intervention trainer

  Train your agency's staff instead of only attending the training.
