A typical day

You open around nine or ten and the first booking is already waiting. Each cut runs 20 to 45 minutes: consultation, cut, line up, sometimes a shave, then sweep and sanitize before the next person sits down. You stand the entire time. Saturdays are brutal and the week before a holiday is worse. Between clients you answer messages, take bookings and post the best cut of the day. If you rent your chair, you track your own money on top of all that.
