A typical day

Meet at the yard at 6:30am, load the truck, drive out to a site. Find the control points from last time, set up the instrument and start measuring: corners, elevations, edges of pavement, the exact position of a pipe about to be buried. Cut brush when the sight line is blocked. Back at the office or in the truck, download the data and check it makes sense before you leave the site, because coming back costs the firm a day.
