A typical day

A meeting where somebody describes a question badly and you spend twenty minutes working out what they really want to know. Then hours of code: pulling data, cleaning it, checking whether it can even answer the question. Fitting a model, then trying hard to break your own result. Writing it up with plots, and a paragraph about what the analysis cannot tell you. That last paragraph is the part people respect you for.
