A typical day

Outpatient work looks like ten to fourteen appointments: half an hour for a new patient, fifteen to twenty minutes for a medication check, a few longer therapy sessions. You listen, adjust doses, chase lab results and write notes between visits. Hospital work is different. You round on an inpatient unit in the morning, then spend the afternoon on emergency consults deciding who is safe to leave and who is not.
