A typical day

Half of it is at a desk: court records, property records, business filings, social media, database searches, then writing it all into a report. The other half is field work. Sitting in a parked car from 6am watching a driveway, waiting hours for a subject who may not come out. Knocking on a witness's door and getting two minutes to convince them to talk. Occasionally a morning in court explaining what you saw and how you documented it.
