A typical day

Mostly a desk and two screens. Running load flow and short circuit cases in grid modeling software, checking whether a line overloads when another one trips. Reviewing a substation drawing set. A call with the protection group about relay settings. Writing a study report a regulator will read. A few times a year you put on a hard hat and boots and go watch your design get energized, which is the part everybody remembers.
