A typical day

Early physical training with your unit, then the rest of the day is much less dramatic than films suggest. Planning, briefings, maintenance and supply, training schedules, counselling your people, and a lot of paperwork you sign your name to. In the field or at sea the hours stretch and the sleep goes. On deployment it is all of that, for months, far from home, with real consequences for getting it wrong.
