A typical shift
Start around 6am or 7am. Pick up the drawing for your job and mark out the plate. Cut it on the table or with a torch, grind the edges, then clamp the pieces to a layout table and tack them together. Check it for square and for twist before you weld it out properly, because once it is welded it is staying that way. Heat, sparks, noise, and a lot of standing and lifting. The job finishes when it goes to paint or on the truck.
