A typical day

Open up, check the schedule and find out who is late and who is a new patient. Then it alternates all day: bring a patient back, take height, weight, blood pressure and temperature, note why they came, set the room up for the doctor. In between, answer the phone, chase a laboratory result, handle a prescription refill, book a referral, and calm somebody who has been waiting 40 minutes. Clinics mostly close in the evening, so the day has a real end to it.
