A typical day

Mostly at a computer: building a model, running an analysis, checking a supplier's drawing, arguing about a tolerance. Then a design review where you defend your numbers to people paid to find the weak part. Some weeks you are on the shop floor or at a test rig instead, watching a part do what the model said it would, or fail. Documentation never stops, because anything that is built has to be traceable back to a drawing someone signed.
