A typical day

The queue is waiting when you open the laptop. Call the people whose claims came in overnight, take a statement, and work out what happened. Mid-morning you are at a house looking at a ceiling that came down, photographing everything, measuring rooms and writing the estimate on a tablet. Then the coverage question: does the policy actually pay for this, and if not, you have to say so and explain why. Afternoons go to negotiating with a contractor over line items, closing files, and the emails from people who think their number should be bigger. Some of them are right.
