A typical day

On a shoot day you are on set before the crew, walking the location with the cinematographer, deciding where the camera goes. Then twelve hours of setting up a shot, rehearsing it, shooting it six times, and deciding when it is right while someone reminds you the light is going. Prep weeks are meetings: casting, locations, storyboards, budget arguments. Post is months in an editing room watching your own choices come back at you.
