A typical day

Mostly reading and writing at a desk. A permit application a client filed two years ago comes back with conditions they cannot live with, so you draft a response. A call with an engineer about what the groundwater numbers really mean. An afternoon reading a new federal rule and writing a plain-language memo about what it changes for five clients. Court is rare. Most of this fight happens in agency hearings and in writing, and it moves slowly, sometimes over years.
