A typical day

In field season: an early start, a long drive, then hours of surveys. Counting plants in marked plots, netting fish, running point counts for birds, taking water samples. Back at the truck you enter data before you forget what the scrawl means. Out of field season it is a desk. Cleaning data, running statistics, writing a report a developer or an agency is waiting on, and sitting in meetings about permits.
