A typical day

Cases arrive from dental offices overnight, as physical impressions or as scan files. You check each one against the prescription: which tooth, what material, what shade, due when. Then bench work, an hour or two per case, with music on and nobody talking to you. Some of the day is at a screen designing a crown that a mill will cut this afternoon. Cases get boxed and shipped by a cut-off time, and that deadline is the only pressure in the room.
