A typical day

Start before the rest of the crew: walk around the machine, check hydraulics, cables and outrigger pads, log the inspection. Talk through the lift plan with the rigger and the signal person, then check the load chart against the weight, the radius and the wind. Then hours of slow, careful moving: steel, concrete buckets, air conditioning units, whole modular rooms. Long waits between lifts are normal. When the wind picks up past the limit, you stop, and nobody argues with you about it.
