What perfusionists make

These come from pay surveys of perfusionists rather than from the federal wage survey, which is unusual for this site and worth explaining. Perfusion is too small a field to get its own line in the government survey, so it is swept into a catch-all group called Health Technologists and Technicians, All Other, alongside jobs that need far less training. That group median is about $50,000, which is not what perfusionists earn, so using it here would be misleading. Compensation surveys of the profession itself put typical pay around $160,000.
