A typical day

At a college it is back to back 30 minute appointments: a sophomore who hates their major, a senior with no resume three weeks before graduation, a transfer student whose schedule has to be fixed today. Between appointments you answer 40 emails, run a workshop on interviewing, and type notes into the student records system. At a state workforce office the same day is people who just lost a job, and it is heavier. In a high school, add lunch duty, a crisis and a parent meeting.
