A typical day

You get your route at 7am: maybe 10 inspections spread across town. A footing inspection before concrete goes in, a framing inspection where you check every strap and nail pattern, a final before a family can move in. Each stop is 15 to 45 minutes of measuring, photographing and writing. Between stops you are in the truck typing notes into permit software. Afternoons often end back at the office answering calls from builders who disagree with you.
