A typical day

Open the shop, look at the service board, start on what was promised for today. A flat, a tune-up, a new bike to build out of the box, a brake to bleed, a wheel to true. Customers interrupt constantly, and half your job is explaining what a repair will cost before you touch it. Spring and early summer are relentless with a queue running a week deep. November is quiet enough that you finally rebuild your own bike.
