A typical day

Start around 8am. Tear down a damaged car to see what the estimate missed, which is most of them, and write a supplement. Pull a frame back to specification on the measuring rack. Replace a quarter panel: cut, fit, weld, grind. Body filler, block sanding, primer. Hand it to the paint side. Between jobs you wait on parts, chase the insurance adjuster and reassemble the car you finished yesterday. Noisy, dusty, loud radio, and you can see exactly what you accomplished by five o'clock.
