A typical shift
Line maintenance runs at night, because that is when aircraft are on the ground. You pick up a work order, walk out to the gate, and fix what the crew wrote up: a failed light, a worn tire, a leaking valve, a computer that will not reset. Everything is done to a manual, with the page open. Then you sign the logbook. Heavy maintenance is different: an aircraft comes apart in a hangar for weeks.
