A typical day
Up before the clients. Check the weather and the water or snow conditions, load gear, run the safety talk. Then five to ten hours of moving people through terrain while watching every one of them, cooking two meals and answering the same three questions. After the clients are asleep: gear repair, tomorrow's plan, and the quiet conversation with your co-guide about who is struggling. The good part and the hard part are the same part.
