A typical day

A family is selling its business and wants to pay less tax on the sale; you draft the reorganization steps and a memo explaining why they work. A call with the client's accountant about a number that does not match. A CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) audit letter to answer for another client. A litigator's day is different: an appeal to Tax Court, cross-examining an auditor. Very little of either is glamorous. Most of it is reading.
