A typical shift

Court security: screen everyone at the door, sit in the courtroom, watch the accused, and step in if someone loses control. Escort: pick up prisoners at the jail, drive them to court and back, and hold them in cells between appearances. Highway patrol in Alberta: traffic stops, collisions and commercial truck inspections. Shifts are 10 to 12 hours, and courts do not close because it is snowing.
