A typical day

A treatment unit sees 25 to 40 patients a day, each for 10 to 20 minutes. You greet the patient, lie them on the table in the exact position from their plan, use tattoos or marks and imaging to line them up to the millimetre, leave the room, deliver the dose from the console, and watch on camera. Then the next patient. Most people come every weekday for 2 to 7 weeks, so you know them, their families and their fears. Some days you work in simulation, scanning new patients and setting up their plans.
