A typical day

Morning at the office checking complaints that came in overnight, then out in the car: a routine restaurant inspection, a follow-up at a pool with a chlorine problem, a daycare with a rash outbreak. You check fridge temperatures, handwashing sinks, chemical logs and pest signs, write each report on a tablet and explain the fixes to the owner. Some days you sample a beach or investigate a food poisoning cluster. Late afternoon is paperwork and phone calls.
