A typical day
Hospital psychologist: two or three assessment or therapy sessions in the morning, a team meeting with psychiatrists and social workers, then report writing. The reports take longer than the sessions. Private practice: back-to-back 50-minute sessions, 5 or 6 a day, with notes in between. Many split the week: 3 days in a hospital, 2 days private.
