A typical day

Meetings, mostly. A morning stand-up with engineers and a designer. A call with two customers about what frustrates them. A review of last week's numbers: did the new feature move anything? An hour of writing: a one-page spec for the next feature, and a note to the sales team on what is shipping. An argument with an executive who wants a feature the data says nobody needs. You do not manage the engineers; you have to persuade them. The job is deciding, explaining and repeating.
