A typical day

Muster at the yard at 7am. Safety tailboard talk, load the truck. Drive to the job: replacing a rotten pole, upgrading a transformer, stringing new conductor for a subdivision. Work from the bucket or climb with hooks. Every step is planned around what is live and what is grounded. Home by 4pm on a normal day. When a storm hits, normal ends: 16 hour shifts until the lights are back on, sometimes for a week, sometimes in another province.
