A typical day

Most of it is quiet: reading, cataloguing, researching an object's history, answering enquiries from the public and other museums. Then a meeting about the next exhibition with designers, educators and conservators, arguing about what goes in and what the label should say. Some days are in storage with gloves and a checklist. Around an opening the days get long and physical, with installation crews and last-minute label reprints.
