A typical day at a mission

Read overnight traffic from Ottawa and the local press. Morning meeting with the head of mission on what matters today. Then it depends on your stream: a meeting with a government ministry, a Canadian company looking for a local partner, an aid organization, or a Canadian citizen sitting in a police station. Afternoon is writing it all up and sending it home. Evenings mean receptions and dinners that are genuinely work, not socializing.
