A typical day

Early start, load the truck with bottles, coolers, meters and forms. Drive to sites, take water, soil or air samples, record conditions, and get the samples on ice and to the lab within the holding time or the day is wasted. Back at the office or lab, log the results, calibrate instruments and prepare for tomorrow. Winter can mean drilling through ice or running snow surveys, and some weeks are entirely indoors in a lab.
