A typical day

Check the weather and the airspace map first, because wind over about 30 kilometres an hour usually cancels the flight. Drive to the site, get permission from whoever controls it, set up, do a walk-around, then fly a planned grid or a set of inspection points. An hour or two of flying produces several hours of processing back at a desk, stitching images into a map or cutting video. A lot of the job is quoting and client email.
