A typical day

Morning at the desk: measure quantities off the drawings, walls, concrete, steel, doors, and price each one. Phone and email subcontractors for quotes. A site visit before lunch to see the ground conditions and access on a job you are bidding. Afternoon: build the bid, check the specs for traps, and review numbers with the chief estimator. On bid day the last sub quotes arrive an hour before the deadline and everything gets finalized in a rush.
