A typical day

Arrive by 7 a.m., check the machine, meet the first patient and go over allergies and risks. Put them to sleep, insert a breathing tube, then watch every heartbeat and breath for the whole operation while the surgeon works. Wake them up, hand over to recovery, repeat 3 to 8 times. On call nights you cover emergency surgery, epidurals and crashes anywhere in the hospital.
